ARCHERY SA must show that it complies with the standards and principles published by DFC. The establishment of child safe environments is an ongoing process and Clubs may not yet have all the requirements in place. To assist them, useful information and templates have been suggested. Once all the requirements are in place, ARCHERY SA is required to complete and lodge an updated statement to the Department for Families and Communities. ARCHERY SA can lodge a statement individually or, as a representative body, may lodge a statement on behalf of the Clubs it represents. Organisations that have already some or all their child safe environment requirements written into their policies and practices are not required to re-write or reproduce these requirements. Organisations are simply required to show that they have established a policy framework that meets the requirements set by the Department for Families and Communities. While previously relying only on the Archery Australia Member Protection Policy, expectations are that ARCHERY SA will have its own Policy and, by having an ARCHERY SA Policy, it will enable us to operate better within the SA context. The annual review of the general Policies of ARCHERY SA has also been undertaken and is out for comment. To view the Policies CLICK HERE. Comment is invited, until 12 April.
