With the cancellation of the National Championships in Burnie, Archery Australia is now providing an alternative.
A (“postal”) National Archery Championships will be held by each RGB (where possible) and will comprise target events of a single 720 round and a single 1440 round. The rounds must be held on consecutive days, by the end of November. The event can be conducted by providing two opportunities (to allow for weather events), but only the total of the highest scores of each of the two rounds will count.
In SA, the ARCHERY SA Board has decided to run its leg by incorporating the ARCHERY SA State (NON-elimination) Matchplay Event and the ARCHERY SA State Target Championships on 13 & 14 November at Mylor Oval.
A second pair of events is also proposed, but obviously, this will not provide for the State Events. This second opportunity (although held first) will be on 9 & 10 October at Victor Harbor Archery Club.
Archers have six options for entering:
Compete in the National Championships (Recurve/Compound/Longbow/Barebow):
the National Championships at Victor Harbor AC, 9 & 10 October (without the State events) OR
the National Championships at Mylor Oval, 13 & 14 November, including the State Matchplay Event and State Target Championships OR
The entry fee for the National Championships (regardless of the number of days attended) is $60.
Compete in the State Events only (13 & 14 November) (Recurve/Compound/Longbow/Barebow/Crossbow):
just the State Matchplay Event (standard entry fee) OR
just the State Target Championships (standard entry fee), OR
both the State Matchplay Event and the State Target Championships (twice the standard fee – in the same category for both events)
