Good Sports and Archery…. a perfect mix 800×600 11 February, 2014 Sports Associations such as ARCHERY SA play a significant role in co-ordinating the delivery of sport in the community and therefore have a responsibility to members and their families. In recognition of this, ARCHERY SA is pursuing involvement with the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports program. The nationwide program, which has the support of the Motor Accident Commission and the Australian National Preventive Health Agency, is designed to assist Clubs with the responsible management of alcohol. As ARCHERY SA is a community-based organisation, this program is a way for it to promote a healthy and welcoming Club culture, whilst working to consistently meet duty of care obligations as well as its objectives. To achieve Good Sports Level 1 accreditation, a number of criteria including having Responsible Serving of Alcohol trained bar staff and our facilities (if applicable) to be smoke-free will need to be revisited. Progress on the matter will be reported to ARCHERY SA’s March general meeting.
