Play by the Rules  - helping keep sport inclusive, safe and fair

Play by the Rules

Play By The Rules (www.playbytherules.net.au) is a free website which offers online training, information and resources for clubs and sporting organisations to ensure everyone involved in sport can do so in enjoyable, safe environments, free from discrimination or harassment.

Play by the Rules is a unique partnership between the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Human Rights Commission, all State and Territory sport and recreation and anti-discrimination agencies and the Queensland Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian.

Check it out now at www.playbytherules.net.au

Complaint Handling Tool

Play by the Rules has an online interactive tool to assist Clubs in decision-making and processes for responding to and handling complaints. The tool provides options and guidelines for dealing with different levels of complaints, from favouritism and team selection to assault and child abuse. Throughout the tool are resources, videos and printable information sheets that provide comprehensive guidance and procedures that can be applied within clubs. The tool can be found on the Play by the Rules website, click here to go to the Complaint Handling Tool.

ARCHERY SA Member Protection Policy

Refer to ARCHERY SA Policies page (Member Protection Policy Summary - go to Appendix 28 of the ARCHERY SA Policies)

ARCHERY SA's Member Protection Information Officer is intended to be an individual that volunteers or works in sport who has interest in, or has been requested to fulfil, the role of a Member Protection Information Officer.

The MPIO is responsible for providing information about a person’s rights, responsibilities and options to an individual making a complaint or raising a concern.

They can also provide information and advice to sport administrators and complaint handlers with regard to the Member Protection Policy of that sport. MPIOs are generally impartial – they don’t mediate or investigate complaints.

They may be part of a Club, RGB or Archery Australia. They can also be freelance (not linked directly to sport).

(If you would like to consider undergoing MPIO training - a flyer about it is available from the Play By the Rules website) - CLICK HERE
