How to Formally Join a Club or Renew Your Membership
So, you have completed a basic Archery Australia accredited course of instruction in the wonderful sport of archery.... what now?
The MyArchery database allows you to securely and online, make application to Join a Club (or to Renew Your Membership) using a computer, tablet or smartphone. If you don't have access to these, your Club will assist you (from 1 July, 2017 all memberships must be completed online).
MAKING APPLICATION TO JOIN A CLUB...
Click on the “New Members JOIN” (blue) button (at the top of this page).
You will be taken to the Archery Australia online membership system (MyArchery). Click on the "New Members JOIN" button and then, on the next page, select the State and Club you wish to Join.
As the Club provides for online processing of membership, the next screen will be the membership options (which the Club should have already explained).
If the online option is not available (it should be) - contact ARCHERY SA and we will contact the Cub to get this issue resolved..
Online Payment - Pay By Credit or Debit Card (VISA or MasterCard only) or PayPal
Complete the subscription and declarations(***) and pay by credit/debit card or PayPal. Once payment has been approved(*), the online application will have been received by the Club and, subject to Club acceptance processes(**), you will be registered and insured and receive an Archery Australia membership card a few days later. The card will indicate the expiry date of the membership - 12 months from it being processed and approved by the Club.
Print the electronic receipt as an interim proof of application.
(While your Club receives confirmation of all payments at the end of each week, it can see your membership application details instantly.)
If you want to pay by Direct Deposit, Cash or Cheque to the Club
You will have to do this under the immediate supervision of a Club officer. You will need to complete the subscription and declarations(***) as above and when you have got to the payment page, the Club officer will have to complete the payment online using a credit/debit card or via PayPal. Your details will then be in the MyArchery system .
Subject to any Club acceptance processes(**), you will then be registered and insured and receive an Archery Australia membership card a few days later. The card will indicate the expiry date of the membership - 12 months from it being processed and approved by the Club.
(Ask for a written receipt from the Club at the time of payment, as an interim proof of application.)
* Be aware, some Clubs may also require a Joining Fee (as a separate transaction) be paid by those joining the Club for the first time
** Some Clubs require that applications for membership are formally accepted at a meeting of members. Until that occurs, you are NOT a member of the Club, ARCHERY SA or Archery Australia
*** The required declarations include:
- Agreeing to be bound by and conducting yourself in accordance with the Constitutions, Rules, Policies and Procedures of the Club, ARCHERY South Australia and Archery Australia Inc. and
- Agreeing with and acknowledging other conditions of membership, including the General Provisions of the Code of Behaviour within the Essence of Australian Sport Code of Conduct (available at http://www.ausport.gov.au/supporting/clubs)
